Ashanthi On TV :Sri Lanka national media celebrate her win

Fresh from her amazing scoop of 4 awards at the IndieGo Music Awards (South Asia’s 1st Music Awards), Ashanthi has found herself in familiar ground again with the media. Here’s her interview on Sri Lanka’s national TV

”Really honoured to win so many awards for my country. Sri Lanka has so much talent and i am so glad that i was able to show a fraction of it to the world through my music..I feel this year will be a really big one for me with a start like this! I must first thank all the people behind Indiego music awards especially Siva and Meera for making this happen and for all the recognition i have received globally with the win of these 4 awards.The new age Asian movement is about to take over the world and the cornerstone has just been laid. So proud to be part of the action and so honoured by this big achievement! thank you team Indiego and all the judges and all my fans who support me throughout my music career! It’s gonna be a great year!”

Ashanthi, considered as the hip-hop & R&B Queen of Sri Lanka bagged Best Overall Female Act(GOLD), The Thank You For Existing Award, Best Pop Act (Silver), Best Hip-hop Solo (Silver).

“Ashanthi has completely bowled us over with her unique set of songs and her effervescent style which is thoroughly infectious. She is such a wonderful ambassador for Sri Lanka and I believe her win will now get more people from across the globe to take notice of the rich talent that has to be offered from the country. We are expecting greater things to come and she is definitely going to be making waves across the globe from this point on. We cant wait to hear more songs from her eclectic bag” said Siva ‘Zaphod” Chandran, the founder of IndieGo music Awards and Bite My Music Global Awards. Siva was also the chief judge presiding  over all global judges for the IndieGo music awards.
